Saudi Arabia Limits Multiple-Entry Visas for Travelers from 14 Countries

Saudi Arabia has introduced new visa regulations that limit travelers from 14 countries to single-entry visas, valid for 30 days with no extension option. This change applies to tourists, business visitors, and those visiting family members but does not affect applicants for Hajj, Umrah, diplomatic, or residency visas.

The affected countries are Algeria, Bangladesh, Egypt, Ethiopia, India, Indonesia, Iraq, Jordan, Morocco, Nigeria, Pakistan, Sudan, Tunisia, and Yemen.

Saudi authorities stated that the primary reason for the change is the misuse of multiple-entry visas. Some travelers used these visas to stay illegally or attend Hajj without proper authorization, contributing to overcrowding. This issue became especially evident in 2024 when over 1,200 pilgrims died due to heat and congestion, worsened by unregistered attendees.

While the suspension of multiple-entry visas is considered temporary, no timeline has been set for a review. The government will evaluate the impact of the new rules before making any further decisions.

Travelers from these countries are advised to apply for single-entry visas in advance and comply with the new regulations to avoid penalties or disruptions. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs urges travelers to stay updated through official government sources.
