Senator Ben Murray-Bruce has urged Tigran Gambaryan, a senior executive at Binance Holdings Limited, to undergo a lie detector test in a neutral country to substantiate his bribery allegations against Nigeria’s National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu.

Gambaryan, Binance’s head of financial crime compliance, was detained in Nigeria from February to October 2024 amid a federal investigation into alleged money laundering and economic destabilization linked to Binance’s activities in the country.

On Friday, Gambaryan took to X, accusing three Nigerian lawmakers of demanding a $150 million bribe in cryptocurrency, and alleged that Ribadu sought payouts from Binance to further his political ambitions. The Nigerian government swiftly dismissed the claims as unfounded and false.

Defending Ribadu, Murray-Bruce argued that the NSA was incapable of such actions, criticizing Gambaryan’s accusations. He also pointed out that Gambaryan should be thankful for his release, as Ribadu could have ensured his imprisonment for life.

“I have known Mallam Nuhu Ribadu my entire life, and I can say with complete certainty that he is incapable of the allegations being made against him,” the former senator stated.

“I challenge @TigranGambaryan to take a lie detector test if he truly believes his claims,” Murray-Bruce added.

Murray-Bruce further accused Gambaryan of damaging Nigeria’s reputation with baseless accusations and suggested he begin preparing an apology once the test reveals the falsity of his claims.
