The Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Olayemi Cardoso, has reiterated the bank’s commitment to enhancing economic collaboration between Nigeria and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This statement was made during a courtesy visit by the Saudi Arabian Ambassador to Nigeria, Faisal bin Ibrahim Alghamdi, and his delegation to the CBN headquarters.

In a press release issued by the CBN on Sunday, Cardoso emphasized the bank’s focus on promoting partnerships across key sectors that foster economic growth. He stated, “The Central Bank of Nigeria is dedicated to advancing partnerships that will strengthen economic ties between Nigeria and Saudi Arabia. We will continue to explore opportunities that bring tangible benefits to both nations.”

The CBN governor also praised the Saudi government for its warm hospitality during the recent AIUla event, organized by the Saudi Ministry of Finance in collaboration with the International Monetary Fund Regional Office in Riyadh.

Ambassador Alghamdi expressed gratitude for the reception and reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s interest in enhancing bilateral cooperation with Nigeria. He highlighted the Kingdom’s eagerness to collaborate in sectors such as renewable energy, agriculture, and water connectivity. “We are eager to deepen our relationship with Nigeria and explore mutually beneficial opportunities that will contribute to the prosperity of both nations,” he stated.

The visit marks another milestone in Nigeria-Saudi relations, as both countries continue to explore ways to leverage their strengths for long-term economic growth and stability.
