Nigeria’s leading carrier, Air Peace, has made history by launching its highly anticipated Lagos-London route, offering an unprecedented 66% fare reduction. This move has sparked a price war with foreign airlines operating on the same route.

The airline’s economy class ticket now starts at N1.2 million, while business class tickets go for N4 million. This significant price drop is expected to stimulate travel and tourism between Nigeria and the UK, fostering stronger connections between the two nations.

Air Peace’s competitive pricing has forced foreign airlines to reduce their fares drastically. For instance, Egypt Air has slashed its Lagos-London economy ticket price to $470, while British Airways now offers tickets for $787.99.

The airline’s chairman, Allen Onyema, believes that foreign airlines are conspiring to force Air Peace out of international operations by crashing airfares on the route. However, this move is seen as a welcome development for Nigerian travelers, who have long been subjected to exorbitant airfares.

Air Peace’s entry into the Lagos-London route is a significant milestone for Nigeria’s aviation industry, and the airline’s commitment to making air travel more accessible and affordable is expected to have a positive impact on the economy.
