A passenger on an Air Peace flight from Lagos to Port Harcourt has been arrested and blacklisted by the airline for stealing onboard. The incident has sparked concerns over the rising trend of in-flight thefts and the need for increased security measures.
The incident occurred on February 19, 2025, on Flight P47190. Upon arrival at Port Harcourt International Airport, a thorough search revealed the passenger was in possession of stolen items. The airline’s Head of Corporate Communications, Ejike Ndiulo, confirmed the incident and stated that the passenger was handed over to airport police for further investigation and necessary action.
Air Peace expressed concern over the rising trend of in-flight thefts and announced measures to curb the trend. These measures include enhanced surveillance, increased vigilance by cabin crew, and more frequent in-flight announcements to educate passengers on securing their belongings.
