Major General Oluyinka Soyele, Theatre Commander of the Joint Task Force for Operation Fansan Yamma, has urged troops preparing for deployment to ensure their families are enrolled in health insurance schemes to avoid any distractions while on the frontline.

The advice was given during a courtesy visit from Colonel Abdullahi Gambo (retd.), the Zamfara State Manager of Defence Health Management Limited (DHML), in Gusau. The statement, issued on Thursday by Lt. Col. Abubakar Abdullahi, Coordinator of the Joint Media Coordination Centre, highlighted Soyele’s message that securing healthcare for soldiers’ families before deployment is crucial for maintaining focus on their operational duties.

Soyele emphasized that concerns about family medical issues could detract from a soldier’s concentration, adding that awareness of available health insurance options improves troop morale and allows for greater dedication to their tasks.

Gambo’s visit was part of a broader awareness campaign across military formations in Zamfara, aimed at educating personnel on their entitlements under the military health insurance scheme. The initiative seeks to ensure that both service members and their dependents have access to necessary medical support.

Gambo also praised the efforts of Operation Fansan Yamma in fighting terrorism in the North-West and parts of Niger State. He assured that DHML would continue collaborating with military authorities to ensure accessible, efficient healthcare for troops and their families.
