Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, has issued a stern warning to commissioners and ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs) in the state to desist from wasting public funds on unproductive workshops and conferences.
Oyebanji gave the warning on Thursday while commissioning motorcycles and other valuable items at a program organized by the Ekiti State Internal Revenue Service (EKIRS).
The governor expressed his displeasure at the activities of some commissioners and MDAs, stating that they do not reflect their pledge to improve citizens’ lives. He urged them to divert resources into projects and initiatives that will benefit the entire state.
Oyebanji also commended the chairman of the EKIRS, Olaniran Olatona, for his commitment and transparent efforts in revenue generation. He called for the blockage of leakages in the state’s civil service.
The EKIRS chairman presented motorcycles and other valuable items to nine top-performing MDAs to encourage them and improve their operations.
