Changpeng Zhao (CZ), the former CEO of Binance, has predicted that only a small fraction of crypto participants will thrive in the long run.
On March 17, CZ responded to a post by crypto influencer EmperorBTC on X, who analyzed market psychology, claiming that “the bar to succeed in crypto is very low.”
CZ pointed out that 80% of investors are “tourists” who are influenced by the media, over 10% follow “misleading influencers,” and only 5% truly understand cryptocurrency.
He added that even within this 5%, most fail to outperform Bitcoin. “4% actively trade or work on projects but won’t outperform Bitcoin. Simply holding BTC outperforms 99% of crypto participants and other asset classes with little effort,” he said.
