Ekkachai and Laksana Tiranarat, the Thai couple who set the Guinness World Record for the longest kiss in 2013, have revealed that they are no longer together.

In an interview on the BBC Sounds podcast, Witness History, Ekkachai expressed pride in their record-breaking achievement, which stood at 58 hours and 35 minutes. The couple had initially broken the record in 2011 with a kiss lasting 46 hours and 24 minutes, before surpassing their own record two years later.

Ekkachai reflected on the experience, stating, “I am very proud. It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. We spent a long time together, and I’m trying to remember the good memories and that we did this together.”

The couple’s record-breaking kiss was achieved at an event organized by Ripley’s Believe It or Not! in Pattaya, Thailand. The attempt was witnessed by officials from Guinness World Records, who verified the record.

The separation announcement comes as a surprise, given the couple’s remarkable display of affection and endurance. Despite their split, the record remains a testament to their dedication and commitment to each other at the time.

Ekkachai’s comments on the podcast suggest that he is focusing on the positive aspects of their relationship and the record they achieved together. The couple’s story serves as a reminder that even the most remarkable displays of love and commitment can come to an end.
