Kano State Deputy Governor, Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, has launched the 2025 Ramadan Feeding Programme, aimed at providing daily iftar meals to 91,000 vulnerable residents across the state for 27 days.
The program, which kicked off at the Dandali Centre in Fagge Local Government Area, involves 91 designated feeding centers and catering service providers preparing and delivering 91,000 plates of food per day.
Gwarzo expressed satisfaction with the program’s smooth start and urged catering companies to ensure timely and efficient meal delivery.
The initiative is a humanitarian effort to ease the difficulties faced by fasting Muslims.
Top government officials, including the Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, and the Commissioner for Religious Affairs, Sheikh Tijjani Auwal, accompanied Gwarzo to the launch.
The Kano State Government has provided N550 million for a free feeding program during Ramadan, with the goal of supporting residents regardless of their political affiliations.
