The Kwara State University (KWASU) has reassured its law students that the recent one-year ban on admission into its law programme will not affect them. The ban, imposed by the Council for Legal Education (CLE), does not apply to students currently enrolled in the university’s Faculty of Law.

According to the Acting Director, University Relations, Dr. Saeedat Aliyu, the ban is a result of the CLE’s decision to sanction KWASU for commencing its law programme in 2018 without the CLE’s approval, despite having full accreditation from the National Universities Commission (NUC).

  • KWASU assures that the ban will not affect students currently running their programmes in the Faculty of Law and KWASU will comply with the CLE’s sanctions by not offering admission into its law programmes in the 2025/2026 admission session.Prospective candidates can apply to other programmes offered by KWASU, which have all the required accreditations.
  • The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) will not conduct admissions for the Law programme at KWASU and seven other universities for the 2025/2026 academic session.
