A high-level Malian delegation, led by the Minister of Malians Abroad and African Integration, Mossa Ag Attaher, arrived in Mauritania on Thursday, March 27, 2025, for a crucial diplomatic mission to strengthen bilateral ties and address migration-related issues.
The delegation included Abdoulaye Diop, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Army Corps General Modibo Koné, Director General of ANSE, the General Delegate for Malians Abroad, and the Director of Legal Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
On the Mauritanian side, the discussions involved: Mohamed Mahmoud Boye, Minister of Justice and Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs. Major General Mohamed Cheikh Mohamed Lemine. Deman Hamar, Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Cheikhna Moulaye Zein, Mauritania’s Ambassador to Mali.
The Malian delegation conveyed a message from Mali’s Transitional President, General Assimi Goita, to the Mauritanian leadership, emphasising the importance of continued cooperation between the two nations. Both countries reaffirmed their commitment to close collaboration in addressing migration challenges and enhancing diplomatic and economic cooperation.
