A Chinese company, Jiuling Lithium Mining Company, has announced plans to invest over $200 million in the establishment of a lithium processing factory in Nasarawa State.

The factory, which will be located in the Endo community of Nasarawa Local Government Area, is expected to become one of the largest lithium mining companies in the state.

According to the representative of the Managing Director of Jiuling Lithium Mining Company, Xiong Jin, the company is committed to building a state-of-the-art facility that will provide employment opportunities for the local population.

Jin disclosed that the company will pay graduates employed to work at the mining site a minimum of N500,000.

Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, who inspected the factory site, applauded the company for considering investing in the state.

Sule called on youths to take advantage of the company’s presence and study relevant technical courses to benefit from the investment.

The governor also assured that his administration would support the company in ensuring smooth operations, including providing infrastructure support in areas like roads, water supply, and electricity.

The investment is expected to contribute significantly to the state’s economy and provide opportunities for local youths to acquire technical skills.

The project is a result of Governor Sule’s recent trip to China, where he met with the Chairman of Jiuling Lithium Mining Company and discussed investment opportunities in the state.
