Nigerian media personality Nedu Wazobia has abruptly quit his role as host of The Honest Bunch podcast, citing growing scrutiny and baseless accusations that have taken a personal toll.
The controversy surrounding Nedu’s exit began when comedian Deeone appeared on the podcast and alleged that social media critic VeryDarkMan (VDM) was attracted to men. VDM fired back, accusing Nedu of trying to bribe him with a car to appear on the podcast.
VDM also claimed that Nedu had been pestering him to come on the show since 2024 and threatened to expose Nedu’s alleged dealings with female celebrities if he continued to push the issue.
In a statement, Nedu said he was stepping down to protect his well-being, family, and the podcast’s integrity. “The past week has brought a lot into perspective for me…Hosting The Honest Bunch Podcast has been an incredible journey, but with that responsibility has come an overwhelming level of scrutiny, antagonism, and unfounded accusations,” he wrote.
Nedu expressed hope that his exit would bring an end to the controversy and allow the podcast to continue thriving. “I sincerely hope this decision brings an end to the negativity surrounding my name and allows The Honest Bunch Podcast to continue succeeding,” he said.
The sudden departure of Nedu from The Honest Bunch podcast has sent shockwaves through Nigeria’s entertainment industry, with many fans and colleagues expressing surprise and disappointment at the news.
