The Federal Government of Nigeria has extended its condolences to the people and government of Iran following a deadly explosion at Shahid Rajaee Port near the Strait of Hormuz on Saturday.
The blast claimed at least 28 lives and injured over 800 others.
In a statement released on Sunday by Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson, Kimiebi Ebienfa, the Nigerian government expressed deep sympathy and solidarity with the Iranian nation, offering heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims.
“Nigeria stands in solidarity with Iran during this difficult time and shares in the grief of the bereaved families,” the statement read. “We commend the prompt response of emergency services and encourage continued support for those impacted.”
