Former President Donald Trump has called on undocumented immigrants to “self-deport” using a new mobile app designed to assist voluntary departures from the United States.

In a 90-second video posted on the social media platform X, Trump stated, “People in our country illegally can self-deport the easy way, or they can get deported the hard way, and that’s not pleasant.”

The app, called *Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Home*, is aimed at offering a simpler method for undocumented individuals to leave the U.S. voluntarily. Trump emphasized that using the app could increase their chances of returning legally in the future, while forced deportation would permanently prevent re-entry.

“The CBP Home app is available for free across all mobile app stores, and I encourage those who have violated our laws to use this option,” Trump said. “Do it right today, and you can come back. Do it wrong, and you’ll never be back again.”

Trump described the app as “the safest option for illegal aliens, our law enforcement,” and noted its potential to save taxpayers money by reducing the resources needed for deportations.

In the meantime, the Trump administration has escalated deportation efforts, invoking the 1798 Alien Enemies Act to remove Venezuelan nationals with alleged ties to the Tren de Aragua gang.

Over the weekend, U.S. District Judge James Boasberg issued an order halting flights transporting these individuals to a Salvadoran prison, but the administration proceeded with two flights, challenging the judge’s authority.
